CENTCOM Announces Submarine Now in Middle East

Joins other forces already deployed in the region.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Sunday that an American Ohio-class submarine has now “arrived in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.” Officials did not identify which submarine it was, although the Navy only has four Ohio-class guided submarines that can fire Tomahawk cruise missiles or nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles.

Two U.S. aircraft carrier strike groups are also in the region, along with the USS Bataan amphibious ready group and 300 additional troops.

The U.S. military presence is anticipated to be a deterrent yet attacks against U.S. coalition forces in Syria and Iraq continue.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Lloyd Austin as he oversees the Department of Defense.
  • For wisdom for Pentagon advisors as they provide the president and his administration with recommendations.
  • For the peace of Jerusalem and discernment for Israeli leaders.
